Letícia Faria de C. Nunes

Welcome to my website! 

I am an Assistant Professor at Insper. My research lies at the intersection of health economics, industrial organization, and applied microeconomics. Using large-scale administrative data and a mix of structural and quasi-experimental methods, I study physician labor markets, the organization and performance of hospitals and health systems, and inequalities in health and health care, with a focus on Brazil. My work has been published in the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Public Economics, and The Lancet Global Health.

I earned my Ph.D. in Economics from the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV EPGE) and spent two years of my doctoral studies as a visiting scholar at Northwestern University. My dissertation received ANPEC’s 2020 Haralambos Simeonidis Award for the best economics dissertation in Brazil. From 2019 to 2021, I was a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Health Policy Studies (IEPS).
